SEBI encourages AIFs to push ESG compliance among their investee companies

As per Ruchi Chojer, Executive Director, SEBI, Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) must push ESG compliance among their investee companies, and that India’s clean energy transition cannot be driven by listed companies alone, and AIFs must play a key role in driving ESG adoption among unlisted investee companies—especially as 40 per cent of AIF capital comes from foreign investors who expect alignment with global disclosure standards.

UK Drops Plans for Sustainable Finance Taxonomy

The UK government has announced that it won’t be proceeding with its plans to develop and implement a UK Green Taxonomy, its proposed classification system for categorizing climate and environmentally sustainable economic activities, and one of the key parts of its sustainable finance framework.
