Boeing has signed a landmark agreement with Charm Industrial to offtake 100,000 tonnes of permanent carbon removal, marking the aerospace company’s first deal with a carbon removal firm in the aviation sector. Charm uses an innovative process that converts biomass into bio-oil and then safely stores it underground, providing durable carbon sequestration.
The partnership will support Boeing’s “avoid first, remove second” climate strategy, reinforcing its commitment to long-term, high-integrity carbon removal solutions. The deal also strengthens Charm’s expanding portfolio of major corporate partners investing in permanent carbon removal.
