Moody’s assigns highly negative ESG rating to India
India was assigned an ESG Credit Impact Score of CIS-4, or ‘highly negative’ by ratings agency Moody’s Investors Services, citing highly negative environmental and social risks, as well as moderately negative governance, indicating weak policy effectiveness which affect the sovereign’s capacity to “respond to negative environmental and social shocks and trends,”.
