GRI sustainability standard to accelerate accountability in the mining sector

Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) has launched a first global standard which will holistically address the sustainability impacts of the mining sector. The new GRI Standard reflects broad stakeholder demands for transparency and enables any mining company to use a common set of metrics to report their impacts. Read more

China Sets Tougher Regulations for Carbon Trading Market

China has signed new regulations for its carbon emissions trading system, including allocating responsibility to government ministries for overseeing and managing trading, and introducing stricter penalties for entities that falsify information, aimed at providing a legal framework for the country’s carbon market and strengthen control of greenhouse gas emissions in carbon intensive sectors.
