The International Energy Agency has launched a new Global Methane Regulator Network aimed at helping governments convert climate pledges into enforceable methane reduction policies. The initiative will bring together regulators from around the world to share technical expertise, policy strategies, and monitoring practices for cutting emissions in the energy sector.
The network is expected to support faster implementation of methane regulations as countries face increasing pressure to meet global climate targets. The IEA said stronger coordination between regulators can improve transparency, reduce emissions leaks, and accelerate progress toward cleaner energy systems while strengthening international climate cooperation.
