Verra has launched a next-generation carbon registry powered by S&P Global Energy, marking a significant upgrade to the infrastructure supporting global carbon markets. The new platform integrates with the Verra Project Hub, enabling users to manage projects from registration to credit issuance, transfer, and retirement through a single streamlined system.
The registry migration includes more than 5,900 projects, 10,500 account holders, 1.4 billion carbon credits, and 125,000 documents. Future enhancements will introduce API connectivity and expanded Article 6 capabilities, helping improve transparency, efficiency, and scalability as demand for high-integrity carbon markets continues to grow.
