Singapore and Brazil Team Up on Cleaner, Smarter Maritime Trade

Singapore and Brazil have agreed to establish a Green and Digital Shipping Corridor aimed at accelerating maritime decarbonisation and digitalisation. The partnership brings together Brazil’s renewable-energy resources and production capabilities with Singapore’s position as the world’s largest bunkering port and a major global maritime hub, creating opportunities to develop alternative marine-fuel supply chains.

The initiative will also explore digital information exchanges to improve maritime and port operations, while both countries plan to work with industry stakeholders on the research, development, and adoption of emerging maritime technologies. The collaboration is expected to support the transition toward more sustainable and efficient international shipping while advancing the use of lower-emission marine fuels.
