The move is designed to enhance transparency, governance, and the accuracy of ESG scoring, which plays a crucial role in shaping investment decisions. Both domestic and international providers offering ESG ratings within the UK will now require authorization from the FCA. The new regulatory framework is expected to come into full effect by June 2028.
