Canadian company Arca has signed a 10-year agreement with Microsoft to remove nearly 300,000 tonnes of CO₂ from the atmosphere. Arca’s innovative approach uses mine waste to capture and permanently store carbon by accelerating a natural process called carbon mineralization, which transforms CO₂ into rock. This method is scalable, low-impact, and converts industrial waste into a powerful climate solution. The partnership supports Microsoft’s commitment to becoming carbon negative by 2030.
